Bill has set up two more campaigns so that’s a total of 4 cities this year! One of them has had the outreach phase postponed but we have successfully completed 3 city wide campaigns with GX International in 2017. These last two tours included Joplin, MO and Santa Fe, NM. Lots of traveling, meetings and many, many hours of work to prepare churches and ministries for a time of proclamations of the gospel in public settings. Above all, this included a mountain of organized prayers. It takes so many months to set something like this up for just one city and when you do it in multiple cities with no one else on your coordination team but yourself, you can feel like giving up at times. But, with a biblical mindset it’s all about the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in John 16:21 “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” Even more joy when a soul is born into the kingdom. In the small town of Neosho a young man attended a youth event where GX was performing. He thought it would be a good place to hang out with other young people because he was new in town and wanted to meet new friends. He had never heard about Jesus before or been around any type of church. When GX presented the Gospel of Jesus he was completely moved to surrender his entire life to the one who created him. And then in Joplin a woman had her hearing restored after one of the GX team members prayed for her at our main event. Very early the next morning we all caravanned to Santa Fe, a 12-hour drive. From there we toured through the towns of Espanola, Pojoaque and Santa Fe, NM. Bill was able to set up 4 main events and one skateboarding event on the Santa Fe Tour and many school assemblies. Three of the events were held outside and it was starting to get cold after the 2nd week of October. Santa Fe is in the high desert at 7,000 feet altitude so the oxygen was thinner too. Our team did great! Considering all of us were without sleep and some were getting sick and some carried small oxygen canisters around. But everyday we put on shows and reached people without letting our physical conditions get in the way of what God had for us to do. The coldest day there was the night of our last show. It was outside at a beautiful park in the middle of the city. Jesus blessed us with a church that provided free coffee and hot chocolate to the team and every person that attended the event. That show was awesome! Definitely one of our best and the altar call not only invited new people into the kingdom of God but also touched the hearts of many volunteer helpers. The pastor of a Cowboy Church sent me a text saying “the hearts of his children opened warmly to the team and they ran to embrace the ministry. Even the littlest name Isaac who’s only 18 months old.” Hours after the last event the team all drove back to Kansas City to catch flights to Brazil.
We maintained our stance in Kansas City getting right back into hosting the Genesis 1:1 Evening Studios. Back before all the touring began with GX, Genesis 1:1 Art was able to show the Days of Creation Art Gallery at the Annual Holton Art Walk in Holton, KS. This is the second year we’ve been there and it’s proven to be a great time for ministry in the art community.
Also, Ruskin Heights is a neighborhood that’s been devastated by drugs and violence and God is taking it back for HIS kingdom. It’s clear that we are to play our part. One way we know for sure is to pray so we continue every week and prayer walk the neighborhood. It’s a big area so we take little pieces at a time. Usually, we walk, pray and God does something. One time a group of us prayed for a yard to be cleaned up. We walked down the road and a man came down the street with a trash bag and started picking up all the trash from the yard we just prayed for. I went back to talk with him but he spoke little english. He knew prayer and became excited and invited all of us to his house to pray for him and his wife. It was like walking right into the country of El Salvador where they are from. Another time I was praying for the very tall grass to be mowed at a house and a man showed up with a lawn mower in the trunk of his car. We turned our prayers towards him and he recommitted his life to Jesus. It’s been like that every time we go to Ruskin and all we’re doing is a simple task that God gave us to do. Walk and Pray.
It’s going to be an amazing 2018 as we’re already looking ahead and currently meeting with leaders right now to help gain that clear focus. We will keep you posted because none of this would be possible without the help of you as our support on the mission field. We are very thankful and blessed to have supporters like you and would always love to hear from you. We keep you in our prayers always.
