We thought last year was busy. We barely took a week off during Christmas when 2021 hit us. So many things have happened so fast this year.
The “In HIS Image” Fine Art Gallery Eventwas the biggest and best event that Genesis 1-1 Fine Art has ever put on and everyone could tell. But it was All JESUS! Everything just seemed to fall into place just as everyone had envisioned it during the prayer times. The gospel message was given and people gave their lives to Jesus. So many people made it all come together like Nate & Rute Tanner of L3 International, GX International, Island Breeze, Grace Point Baptist Church, Marcotte Music, Jazz for Good Foundation and about 50 other people that God brought together for this amazing event. And to top it off, the entire event was 100% Fully Funded!
It’s definitely been a fruitful year for Genesis 1-1 Fine Art and we’re just getting started. Two more people have been called by God to join the ministry. One is temporary and the other will be full time. Let’s all welcome Jeanine and Tamara as new staff. They’ve already been a huge help with prayer, organizing and logistics. Our next event will be another fun open studio then an Artist talk with Darrell Williams on May 21st. Mark the Calendar and don’t miss his presentation. Another great opportunity as we share the gospel to a secular art influenced world. Even though we have more staff this still takes a lot of work. Prayer for more volunteers to help facilitate Genesis 1-1 events.
It's not all art stuff,I’ve been busy as a consultant to different ministries by helping them with creative outreach. In the very early Spring there was a combined effort to reach a large apartment complex that has been listed as a nuisance property by the police department. We organized an easter egg hunt and brought games, music and prayer to the residents and property managers. The new managers loved it so we’re hoping to do a larger evangelistic event at Cloverleaf apartments in the future.
Jesus said “You’ll know them by the obvious fruit of their lives and ministries.”(matthew 7:20) The Ruskin Walk & Pray is seeing substantial fruits. The community is coming together like in the old days. We were able to have a big outreach in a Ruskin park with ponies, games and bounce houses. The gospel was preached and lives were changed. Once a month we have a time in Ruskin to do worship, prayer and share hotdogs with the neighborhood. In the last month we’ve witnessed 3 physical healings and 10 new commitments to follow Jesus. The Harvest is Plentiful my friends!
I’ve been helping a friend that has a ministry called A.C.T.S. (All Christians Together Serving). ACTS Ministries will be going to inner city parks this summer to preach Jesus and bless the community with lots of games, food and entertainment. The goal is to Stop the Violence and Be Blessed. I’ve been able to introduce police and others from the community to ACTS Ministry as we help with this effort. Another ministry I’ve been helping out is Salt n Light. This team is launching a mobile church and they’ve been fascinated by the work we do in Ruskin parks. It’s going to be fun helping them pioneer this new venture. Then there’s Kid City 7. Another mobile church type of ministry. The focus for them is children as they target 3 different lower income neighborhoods by bringing a kids Sunday School to them on Wednesdays. One of those is located in Ruskin. That’s how I got involved.
GX International is going at it stronger than ever. This year two more full-time staff were added to the ministry. GX will be running a Discipleship Training School starting this summer. They’ve already done many outreaches with a tour to Africa coming up.
We’ll stay around here for now because that’s what God has us doing at this time.
